The support from the Detroit Regional LGBT Chamber of Commerce and the DTE Foundation grant truly transformed the trajectory of Slapping’ Taco. That $10,000 investment allowed us to move forward with key infrastructure for our restaurant including commercial kitchen equipment and site build-out. More than just funding, the Chamber’s mentorship and visibility opened so many doors for real community partnerships and helped bring my dream of creating a local food destination to life.
